Ms. Besheer has been United Nations correspondent for Voice of America since 2008, covering stories from headquarters in New York and in the field. She has also reported for VOA from Iraq (2006-07) and covered the Hezbollah-Israel war in Lebanon during the summer of 2006. Before joining VOA in 2002, Margaret worked as a public affairs writer and print reporter in Washington, DC and the Middle East for a decade.

She is co-author with Hunt Janin of Cultures of the World: Saudi Arabia (Times Publishing, 2003).  Margaret received a B.A. in International Relations and an M.A. in Journalism, both from the American University in Washington, DC.
